Morgane Eats

Develop your own Cookbook with CreateMyCookbook

“This post is sponsored by CreateMyCookbook; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

You know me well enough to know cooking is my happy place. Even if I’m sick, cooking dinner oddly gives me joy. Though I probably shouldn’t do it then, I think you get the point. People always ask me, “Morgane, can you send me the recipe?” I’ve often pulled something I saw on social media or a magazine and “veganized” it. I discovered CreateMyCookbook’s website recently, and y’all, this is it.

What’s CreateMyCookbook?

This website allows you to create a professional-style cookbook for you to keep or share as gifts with your family. (Hello, holiday gifts!) You can manually enter your recipes or auto-import your recipes with a few simple tools. If you can use Canva, you can use this platform too. But for an additional fee, the company offers WeTypeIt. I love that you can add photos and personalize the cover image too.

I’m sure your family is just like mine; your grandma makes that bomb dish, and she told you how to do it, but it’s just not giving for you when you make it, as it does when grandma makes it. That’s the beauty of capturing your recipes using CreateMyCookbook. It’s on paper now. Grandma can’t tell you it’s just a pinch of this, a splash of that; Grandma needs to provide details! Creating your own book could be an awesome gathering with everyone in the kitchen.

How was the process?

In a word, really easy. The tools to make it were so simple, but friend, you know I have tons of recipes, so deciding which recipe to include was quite difficult. I wanted to keep the recipes not basic because that’s not me, but something approachable to non-vegans. Lowkey, I made this cookbook, so my husband can cook for me!

The tool to design your cookbook is user-friendly. The only thing that was kind of challenging for me was assigning it to the book. But thankful the customer service was right on point. The team responded within a day with a fix, and I was on my way. Plus, there are plenty of articles to help you too.

Setting up your cookbook

I loved adding a mix of recipes from breakfast, snacks, drinks, and entrees to my first cookbook. Adding photos was a snap! I also switched up the look of the recipes, meaning not all have photos, but some do.  I liked the versatility of that look.

After the setup, the cookbook came in the mail in about a week. That’s so great! I also created an ebook that I can sell to lovely people like you!

What would I do differently?

I’m so happy I pulled together this cookbook. But in hindsight, I would have printed/downloaded my print-ready files to proof. This way, someone could also taste-test the recipes! The system will let you give permission for others to contribute but not view.
