Easy Vegan Shamrock Shake

The classic Shamrock Shake has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. But how do you create a vegan Shamrock Shake? In college, I would have at least five shakes from March 1-17. You must understand, March is my birth month so I allowed myself to go pretty crazy. But still, that’s quite a bit. The shake felt like a treat made especially for me because I was born the day before St. Patrick’s Day.

Though I’m not Irish, and I never celebrated St. Patrick’s Day to be honest, I love Shamrock Shakes. Who wouldn’t love a green treat that is slightly minty and loaded with sugar and cream? Now that I’m on a vegan journey, I had to crack the code of recreating a vegan Shamrock Shake.

My version of the shake adds a healthier take on the classic. In this remake, I don’t use any weird food coloring for the beautiful green hue. Instead, I gain the beautiful color from spinach and avocado. The avocado adds a creaminess to the shake while the spinach sneaks in healthy nutrients and color.

Also, the aforementioned sugar and cream are replaced with non-dairy milk, ripe bananas, and dates. My non-dairy milk for this recipe is either oat milk or almond milk. I used oat milk for this creation of the Shamrock Shake but I have used almond milk in the past. There is no added refined sugar in this recipe. It is sweetened with dates and a very ripe banana. (heavy on the very ripe!)

Shamrock Shake Ingredients

The ingredients:

Avocado

Ripe Bananas

Non-dairy milk

Spinach

Dates

Peppermint Extract

With a few quick pulses of your blender you’ll have a thick and creamy shammy shake! I love to add non-dairy whipped topping, a cherry and cacao nibs. Add it to a pretty glass with a reusable straw and you are ready to enjoy.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 Frozen Avocado
  • 1 1/2 Very Ripe Frozen Banana
  • 1 cup Non Dairy Milk Beverage I used Oat Milk
  • 1/4-1/2 cup Fresh Spinach
  • 1/2 -1 tsp Peppermint Extract
  • 3 dates
  • Optional Toppings: Non-dairy whipped topping, cherries, cacao nibs

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients (minus the toppings) into your blender and blend. Pour into a beautiful glass. Add toppings to your shake.

Notes

I’ve used both almond and oat milk in this recipe and both tasted amazing!
