“He was just cute,” She said so she swiped yes to her future hubby.
Naomi met her boo on Tinder during the first month of the pandemic. Naomi made a pledge to herself in January 2020, this is going to be her year to meet a wonderful man. She took the time to work on herself and as soon as spring came in March 2020 she hopped back on Tinder after going off and on for five years.
Bumble and Hinge were other options Naomi used. Naomi weighs the pros and cons of those two apps:
Bumble

The pros: Great quality of men that were educated
The cons: The men were all the same
Tinder
Quickly decide who you want to date.
The pros: Really decent and chill guys of all walks of life.
The Cons: Might be the Walmart of online dating.
Naomi warns us of the types of profile photos you might find on the apps:

- The “doing something crazy”
- The fish picture

For Naomi, the image of her future husband in front of a monument was just right and was one reason she swiped yes.
Dating during the pandemic
Dates were simple during the pandemic. They include virtual dates and picnics and soon the two were ready to into each other’s bubble to spend more time with each other.
Social Media vs Online Dating Apps
Shaming people for how they met their spouse is very common these days. Naomi wonders if she would have met her fiance if not for Tinder. The two people ran in the same circles but didn’t quite make a connection without Tinder.
By day, Naomi is an NPR host and reporter, who has been in the journalism industry since 2011. Outside of work, she loves to travel, especially on solo trips. She’s currently completing the final touches for her wedding. October 15, 2022, is Naomi’s big wedding day.
Naomi is excited about International Themed Wedding. She didn’t want anything too on the nose but to bring out her theme with the help of her mom. But ultimately she’s looking forward to walking down the aisle and being his wife.
